Loving Salinas, which was started over 19 years ago by Salinas Valley Community Church, is a well-known name to the community of Salinas.  This wonderful movement of serving the community of Salinas has blessed local schools, the City of Salinas, non-profits, youth, adults - you name it - with the loving hands and feet of Christ.  Loving Salinas is linking arms again with Love Our Central Coast in an effort to further unite churches that want to serve together and further impact our local communities through loving relationships. The colloaborative is founded on the notion of collective impact in our communities, seeking to not only serve and bless our communities, but to help shape the character, values and culture of caring and serving our neighbors.

Love Our Central Coast is expanding in extending compassion and kindness across our cities by several church partners alongside of non-profits, school districts, businesses, service organizations, neighborhoods, city departments, residents, and guests all working together for the common good of our central coast.  The strength and unity of the Church brings great love and care for our communities as well as a force towards solving pressing community issues.

Salinas has many unique needs and partnerships and we want to encourage participating churches to both jump in and serve together as well as look for additional opportunities for partnership and service needs.  Some of these areas include:

- Adopting a school nearby your church, and help mentor kids, start a kids club, serve the teachers
- Serve as a mentor with First Tee, the Boys and Girls Club and other youth organizations
- Dorothy's kitchen, Community Homeless Solutions, First Methodist Church of Salinas, Victory Mission - serving homeless in shelters and transitional housing
- Clean up and beautification of parks, neighborhoods, city streets
- Sherwood Elementary Homeless Resource Center - participate in hosting games for kids, making give-away bags for homeless families, participation in field trips with kids, coaching a soccer team
- Making dresses and sewing them to give away on mission trips in Mexico, Guatemala, other countries
- Block parties for neighbors or for families who have lost a child to gang violence
- Pray for our cities, leaders, our culture
- Construction of homes, bookshelves, tables, roofs, painting
