Dress A Girl is a program that provides high quality, made with love, one of a kind dresses for little girls living in extreme poverty. Participants will work in one of three areas. Those who have experience sewing can make dresses from a kit. Other jobs include cutting tags and ironing fabric. There are jobs for people who sew as well as those who do not. Participants will sew simple dresses from a kit for distribution to girls in need. (We can provide these dresses to other churches that are involved in the LOCC project for their Missions Trips as well.) Participants will choose from one of the following tasks: 1) Sew dresses from kits (everything provided except thread). Participants must provide their own sewing machine, thread, and sewing supplies. They must know how to sew already. 2) Cut tags for kits. Participants should bring a pair of scissors. 3) Ironing fabric that will be used to make more dresses. Participants should bring an iron and ironing board if possible. When signing up, you will receive an email asking if you want to sew, cut or iron.
